Oak Is Special “Fly”
✨ 2010 Barrel Mare– 1D/2D/3D Mare ✨

It honestly hurts me to even make this post, but with keeping both of her babies and now having a child of my own, I just don’t have the time she deserves.

✨ Runs 1D–3D times depending on the rider and setup
✨ Push-style – get her past the barrels and she’ll handle the rest
✨ More of a jackpot horse (has been entered in a few rodeos, but that’s not her main job)

She is not one you have to constantly tune on — keep her in shape and take her to the race. She has more try than any horse I’ve ever ridden and absolutely loves her job.

She can get a little hot at barrel races, but once you’re in the holding pen she’ll stand on a loose rein. I’ve been running her on guanabenz and it has helped.

At home, she is the total opposite — quiet, laid-back, and safe. She’s been my go-to to let kids ride and you can do just about anything on her.

🩺 Maintenance: Routine injections. Just had hocks done at beginning of April

She’s been my main horse for 10 years and has made me proud time and time again.

🔹 Quirk: She does not like backing out of trailers — prefers to turn around. I haul her in the front stall and it’s never been an issue.
